A lovely thing about having just a few hot months each year is that we don’t take our beautiful weather for granted. It’s the best time to be adventurous and Montreal is in no way short of ways for you to impress your next date. While there is lots going on right here in the city, be open to some short-distance travelling as that in itself can be part of the experience.
At any given time this Summer, you can enjoy one of numerous festivals happening in and around Montreal. The Jazz Festival and Just for Laughs are well known. But why not suggest a more unique outing, such as the Festival of Circus Arts in July or the International Tango Festival in August.

Take a Walk
Well, not just any walk! Impress your date with the ultimate in romantic strolls. Make a night of it by heading to Foresta Lumina, located at Parc de la Gorge in Coaticook Quebec (about a 1.5-hour drive from Montreal). It’s a “Night-Illuminated Pathway” or in other words, a man-made enchanted forest. You really have to see it to understand just how gorgeous it is. For a first date, this is a unique way to enjoy the outdoors and get to know each other in a whimsical, mythical setting. It is not a guided tour, so you and your date can explore the different zones of the forest at your own pace.
Make it a Pool Day
You don’t have to fly down South to enjoy frozen drinks sitting at a pool bar. Club LaCité on Parc Avenue has an outdoor pool open to the public with a full-service drink & snack bar and lots of space to lounge and sunbathe. If you’re looking for a fun and relaxed day-date, Club LaCité is your go-to and your date is sure to love the mini staycation.
Entrance fee: $12 on weekdays and $20 on weekends.
Picnic by a Waterfall
You will wow your date at Dorwin Falls Park. Located in Rawdon, Quebec, this park is only a short one hour drive from Montreal. Both the sight and sound of the 60-foot waterfall are said to be mesmerizing and the hiking trails (which are short!) are ideal for working up an appetite. Make a day of it by packing a hearty lunch and heading over to enjoy a delicious picnic and relaxed day in nature.
